Entry Fee: It starts as an invitation tournament to the players participating in the CornyForty for the 2009 season. The cost of entry for any 2009 CornyForty participant is $50.00. Those players will have until February 13th to sign up at the $50.00 entry fee. After February 13th the invitation will become an open invitation and any cornhole player in the country can play for the $100.00 buy in fee
Field: The field is limited to the first 128 contestants to sign up. The purse is guaranteed. How it will work: Each player will have the opportunity to compete in four different events. They will earn points at each event based on their performance. The higher a player's total points accumulated the better their placement. The player with the highest point total after all four events have been completed will win first place.
Where and how to earn points:
Stage I - Each player will throw a Seven21 Challenge earning one point for every point they score in the Seven21 Challenge - Seven21 is where we give a player seven bags to try and score as many points as possible pitching from the normal pro-distance of 27' front edge to front edge - Maximum number of points a player can win at this stage = 21
Stage II - Each player will participate in a luck of the draw doubles tournament. We will take the top 64 players and put them in one basket called A players and the other 64 players we will put in a basket and call them B players. We will randomly match an A and B player in this event. Each player will win points based on how far his team advances - Top 32 = 6 points / Top 16 = 9 points / Top 8 = 12 points / Top 4 = 15 points / Second Place = 18 points / Winner = 21 points Stage III - Each player will participate in a singles tournament - best two of three winner moves on - seeding based on current SCR score, if no SCR score players will be randomly seeded. Each player will win points based on how far his team advances -Top 64 = 3 / Top 32 = 6 points / Top 16 = 9 points / Top 8 = 12 points / Top 4 = 15 points / Second Place = 18 points / Winner = 21 points
Final Stage IV - AirMail Challenge - each player will be given 8 bags in this challenge. They will pitch those bags from a position basically 30' from the hole. A player will earn 5 points for every made attempt. The maximum number of points a player can win at this stage = 40 points. We will run 8 boxes at one time and start with the lowest point totals for the day and slowly work our way up to the highest point totals for the day. The top eight teams moving into this challenge will be the last eight players to pitch for the day. Each group of eight players will have three minutes to pitch their eight bags.
