Other interesting facts from this years first ever ACO Nationals tournament.
- Stephanie Janson was the only female qualifier in this years ACO Nationals Singles, scoring 228 total in the qualifier round to come in as the 32nd and final seed for the bracket tournament. Stephanie beat out Rob Boehl and Tom Bechtol both scoring a solid 224 in the qualifiers.
- Bret Guy age 13, Matt's son was the youngest qualifier in this years Nationals by coming in at 233 cumulative and a 29 seed. Well done Bret.
- John Avery qualified as a 13 seed with a 270 cumulative and Rudy Thompson came in as a 25 seed with a 247 cumulative. Both were African American players who made the cut to move forward into the Championship Bracket Challenge.
- Matt Guy's qualifying score of 349 is the new world record for a three game cumulative.
- Rudy Thompson a 25 seed scored the biggest upset in the opening round of the Bracket Challenge by knocking off 8th seed Earl Browning. Rudy couldn't keep the dream alive and was later ousted in the second round by 9th seed Ron Cracraft.
- Seedings seemed to work very well. We had the 1 seed, 2 seed, 3 seed and 5 seed make it to the final four with the 1 seed playing the 2 seed for the title. The 1 seed eventually one it all.
