Last years participants battled for a $5000.00 purse - Matt Guy walked away with $3000.00 for first place and Steve Vanderver claimed $1000.00 for second. We hope to make the purse even bigger for this years event. It doesn't matter how big the purse is if you aren't one of the best 16 players in the country accornding to the ACO CornyForty you will not be competing for the BIG MONEY!

Guaranteed $6500.00 Purse for the 2008 World Cornhole Championship

- $2500.00 - First Place

- $1000.00 - Second Place

- $500.00 - Top Four Finish (paying out $500 each to 2 players)

- $250.00 - Top Eight Finish (paying out $250 each to 4 players)

- $125.00 - Top Sixteen Finish (paying out $125.00 each to 8 players)

What's cool is all sixteen players do not have to pay to be a part of the event. This is an invitation only that players must have earned the right to play via their "Corny Fourty" ranking.

If you're invited and show up to compete you automatically have won $125.00 minimum.

Are you invited? Are you good enough? Get out to the next ACO Top Gun event and see how good you really are.

- Atlanta, GA
- Spartanburg, SC
- Cincinnati, OH

Currently you are sitting at 27 with an 87.33.

The only player I expect not to be able to make the journey at this time is Art Guy from AZ.

However as of August 5th each player that makes the cut will be individually called and invited to the event - They will have 24 hours to confirm if they are able to make it. If they can't make it the next player in line down the list is in. Any player having played in a TopGun event this year has a chance to better his SCR Score over the next week and move up in the rankings. They will need to contact an agent and set a time to get Skill Challenged.

If you go out and throw a high 90 low 100 you have a good shot of being on Fountain Square.

Good Luck.

Corny Forty is a combination of your best SCR Score in a years time which for Dewi is 94.33 at this time. He participated in his first TopGun tourney which was a T2 at the Maize Kraze in Cincinnati at River Downs but did not finish in the points which is Top 8 or better so currently Dewi is sitting at 21 on the Corny Forty list - Dewi has it in him to throw a high skill challenge so he is not out of the hunt yet to play in the Fountain Square event but he still has to earn his way there. Nothing is handed to a player when it comes to making the Corny Forty - it's something that is earned based on SCR Score (best in a current year) and points earned participating in TopGun tournaments across the country.

Hope that helps answer your question - call Ricky and he'll be able to explain in further detail if you have anymore questions.

The SCR Ranking system calculates a player based on a years time from the time they threw their last best Skill Challenge. The Corny Forty is set that the SCR has to be within the calendar year.

Last chance for players to better their SCR Score points will be Monday August 4th. Any players on the bubble or outside looking in may want to contact your local or closest ACO Agent to give yourself one last chance to make the cut. Remember a skill challenge costs $20.00 and usually takes around half hour to complete.

The standings as of August 5th will be final - those players making the cut will receive a invitational call on or before August 6th - a decision has not been made at this point on how a tie will work. If there is a tie for the 16th and final spot for the Fountain Square event, we will cross that bridge when we get to it. In the meantime any players wanting to up their CornyForty points by trying to pitch a better SCR Score need contact your ACO agent.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Any players not making the cut or any cornhole enthusiasts should make the journey to Cincinnati that weekend and have a couple Hudy Delights and enjoy some of the best cornhole competition in the country.

See you August 16, 2008 - Downtown Cincinnati, FOUNTAIN SQUARE - PRIME TIME WILL BE AROUND 2:00PM bags will be flying steadily.......

This event is in support of the Easter Seals Work Resource Center of Cincinnati, OH.
