Every game needs rules. Especially a growing game like American Cornhole.

These are the official rules and regulations of the American Cornhole Organization (ACO). They allow the ACO to set tournament standards and sanction league rules and regulations. They are also here to help casual players take part in sanctioned events.

We want to leave room for everyone to enjoy the game, so the rules apply to both pro and amateur sanctioned events. They are also recommended for non-sanctioned events, which ACO will promote to help grow the sport nationally. But non-sanctioned events won't be regulated or managed by the ACO or any of its partners, owners or other approved parties of the ACO.

Here's how ACO handles different types of events:

Pro ACO approved partner member owner or other approved party. Only “Tournament Series” boards. Vinyl decals or other decoration NOT legal. ACO cornhole bags supplied by event host.
Amateur (casual) ACO approved partner member owner or other approved party. Only “Tournament Series” boards. Vinyl decals or other decoration ARE legal. ACO cornhole bags supplied by host or players can bring their own American Cornhole tourney bags.
Non-sanctioned Anyone "Tournament Series" boards recommended ACO cornhole bags recommended

"Tournament Series" boards are blank or silkscreen direct from the American Cornhole factory.
